Ethnographic Film Screenings at the Embassy of India, Moscow, 25.6.2013

On 25 June 2013, the Embassy of India, Moscow, and Institute of Ethnology & Anthropology, Russian Academy of Sciences, screened the documentary films "Nagamandala: Snake worship in South Kannada” and “Theyyam: Ritual Art of Kerala” at the D P Dhar Hall of the Embassy. This was the second such screening, and is being undertaken as part of the Embassy’s monthly screening of documentary films on Indian ethnology and anthropology.

Ambassador of India to the Russian Federation, H.E. Mr. Ajai Malhotra addressed the audience before the screenings, which were followed by an interactive session with Lecturer, Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology Dr. Svetlana Ryzhakova. The evening concluded with a reception by the Embassy of India, Moscow.

Screening of such documentary films pertaining to Indian ethnology and anthropology will be held once a month at the Embassy of India, Moscow.
