Screening of Indian Film “Black” at Fakel Theatre, Moscow, 9 February 2014

"Indian Cinema Club, Moscow", in association with the Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Centre, Embassy of India, Moscow, organized the inaugural screening of popular Indian film “BLACK” (dubbed in Russian) starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee, at Fakel Theatre, Shosse Enthusiastov, 15/16, Moscow, 9 February, 2014. Ambassador of India to the Russian Federation H.E. Mr. P.S. Raghavan and Mrs. Barbara Raghavan were the Guests of Honor at the inauguration ceremony which was also attended byArt-Director of Fakel Theatre Ms. Natalia Gavruk-Gavarlina, General Director of MOSKINO Ms. Vasilisa Orestova and Head of “Indian Cinema Club, Moscow” Ms. Anna Abalueva and others.

In his speech, Ambassador Raghavan noted the efforts madeundefined by “Indian Cinema Club, Moscow” and other organizers in reviving the interest of Russian public for Indian films in movie theatres and assured all the assistance of Embassy of India, Moscow for regular non-commercial screenings of Indian films in Russia. Dance group of “Indian Cinema Club, Moscow” presented a few Bollywood dances for the audience before the screening of the film.

Ms. Natalia Gavruk-Gavarlina promised to regularly screen popular Indian movies (dubbed/subtitled in Russian) free of cost to the Russian audience twice every month at Fakel Theatre. The films for non-commercial screening have been provided by the External Publicity and Public Diplomacy Division of the Ministry of External Affairs of India.
