Indian Participation in St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2014

The Ambassador of India to the Russian Federation H.E. Mr. P.S. Raghavan led the Indian delegation to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) from 22 to 24 May, 2014. The delegation included senior representatives of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry and Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India and representations of Indian business, led by Mr Sumit Mazumdar, President-designate of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The Ambassador and Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation H.E. Mr. Alexey Likhachev co-chaired the 5thIndia-Russia Business Dialogue, which was attended by Government and business representatives and discussed ongoing and prospective cooperation in, inter alia, bilateral trade & investment, information technology, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, engineering, transport, energy and fertilizers.

On May 24, Igor Sechin, President of Rosneft and D. K. Sarraf, CMD ONGC signed an MoU in the presence of H.E. Mr. Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, providing for bilateral cooperation in subsurface surveys, exploration, appraisal and hydrocarbons production in the offshore Arctic Region of Russia.
