INDIAN PASSPORTS

Indian passports are normally issued for a period of 10 years. The passport can be renewed any time between one year before and six months after the actual date of expiry.  If the passport has expired finally, a new booklet will be issued.  Final expiry is indicated on the passport by letter “(F)” or word “Final” mentioned after the date of expiry on the passport.  Four passport size photographs taken full face are to be submitted along with the filled in application form for issue of a new passport booklet.  However, if the passport has not expired finally, the same booklet is renewed. 

The forms for renewal of Indian Passports and for the issue of new passport booklets are different and appropriate forms are required to be filled in.  All applicants for passport services are also required to produce/show their valid visas/resident cards for proof of their lawful residence in the Russian Federation. 

A Passport is a very important document.  It should be kept up to date by renewing it before it expires.  Its loss should be reported immediately to the local Police authorities and also to the nearest Indian Mission.

DUPLICATE PASSPORTS:

The issue of duplicate passports in lieu of lost or damaged passports are handled under a special procedure. In case of lost passport, application form should be accompanied with copy of FIR lodged with police/”spravka”, copy of lost passport and proof of identity like driving license, Institute ID card or letter from employer. 

SEPARATE PASSPORTS TO MINOR CHILDREN :

All minor children will need a separate passport valid for 5 years from the date of issue or till 15 years of age whichever is less.
