INFORMATION ON VISAS Print

Citizens of the Russian Federation and other foreign nationals normally resident in the Russian Federation can obtain visa from the Embassy. Russian nationals holding ordinary passports should ensure that they carry a valid visa for India, issued from an Indian Mission before they travel to India. There is no scheme of issuing visas on arrival for such travellers at any of the entry points in India. Visa applications are considered on its merits and the Embassy has the right to seek additional information at any stage during processing the requests. The fact that an application for visa has been received at the counter does not guarantee that visa will be issued. The Embassy reserves the right to refuse a visa without assigning any reason whatsoever. Application for visa is entertained only if the applicant's passport is valid for more than six months on the date of application.

The Consular wing normally takes around 5(five) working days to issue a tourist visa and 10 (ten) working days for other types of visas.

Issue of visa to foreigner nationals is subject to the clearance from the Indian Embassy in the native country of the visa applicant. Hence sometime, due to delay in clearance, such applicants might not get their visa on the delivery date printed on the Receipt. They are advised to check about the readiness of their visa on the following numbers before coming to the Embassy:

495-9171935
495-9810093
495-7837535 Ext: 358
