Rescue operation by India in Yemen

In view of the security situation in Yemen, international community joined efforts to evacuate nationals from various countries from Yemen. India launched a massive rescue operation, which resulted in the evacuation of over 5600 persons by special flights and Indian naval vessels. Those evacuated included nearly 5000 Indian nationals and over 1000 foreign national from 41 countries. Russia was one of the countries whose nationals were evacuated by India. On 11 April, 5 more Russian nationals were evacuated and transported by Indian naval ship INS Tarkash from Aden (Yemen) to Djibouti.
