Federal Migration Service and Indian community meet

The Embassy of India organized an interaction between representatives of Indian community in Russia and the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation (FMS) on March 10, 2015. The Head of Federal Migration Service of Russian Federation Mr. Konstantin Romodanovsky graced the event and addressed the session together with the Ambassador of India. A high-level delegation from the Federal Migration Service and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation participated in a vibrant interactive session with Indian business representatives.

In his inaugural remarks, Mr. Romodanovsky outlined the initiatives being taken by FMS to streamline procedures for facilitate the entry, living and working in Russia of foreign businesspersons in Russia. He welcomed the presence of Indian business representatives in Russia and expressed the view that the number could be much higher in consonance with the close bilateral relations between the two countries. He exhorted Indian businesspersons to explore opportunities for business in the various regions and republics of the Russian Federation. Ambassador Raghavan appreciated the consistent support extended by FMS to address the consular needs and concerns of the Indian business community in Russia.

FMS officials responded patiently and in detail to queries relating to visas, work permits, residence permits and other consular matters. The Indian business community was appreciative of this opportunity of having their queries addressed and their consular concerns communicated to the appropriate authorities.
