Screening of Film on Leo Tolstoy and Ilya Ginzburg

The documentary film ‘A Captured Image, or Leo Tolstoy and Ilya Ginzburg: Double Portrait in the Epoch’s Interior’ was screened at the Embassy on 17 March 2015. The film has been directed by Ms. Galina Yevtushenko and Ms. Anna Yevtushenko. It was nominated for the Golden Eagle award. The film is about the work and biographies of Leo Tolstoy and renowned sculptor Ilya Ginzburg. The film protagonists were contemporaries who knew each other and were fascinated by each other. More than 20 effigies of the writer were sculptured by Ilya Ginzburg during Leo Tolstoy’s lifetime.

Ambassador Raghavan and Mrs. Barbara Raghavan graced the occasion with their presence. Ms. Galina Yevtushenko, Ms. Anna Yevtushenko and other crew members of the films were also present.
