Visit of Vibrant Gujarat delegation to Russia, 1-4 September 2014
A high-level business delegation from Gujarat visited Moscow and St. Petersburg from 1-4 September 2014 to explore mutual business and trade opportunities between Russia and Gujarat as well as to invite participation of Russian companies for the upcoming 7th Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2015 on 11-13 January 2015 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The delegation was led by Mr. G C Murmu, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Gujarat and had representatives of prominent Indian companies operating in the sectors of Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Gems & Jewelry, Power, Infrastructure, Dairy Products, Defense & Aerospace, Renewable Energy, Information Technology, Pharma Machinery, Agro & Food Processing. Business meetings with participation of Russian companies, Chambers and regional government representatives, meetings with the Deputy Prime Minister of Astrakhan region, First Deputy Chairman of External Affairs Committee of St. Petersburg were held in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
H.E. Mr. Nikolay Korolev, Deputy Prime Minister of Astrakhan Region underlined the ongoing cooperation between Gujarat and Astrakhan.
The delegation met H.E. Mr. Sergey Cheremin, Minister and Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations, Moscow Government and local businesses. Indian business delegation also held meetings with major Russian companies like Sistema, Sibur, Alrosa, Rakurs, State Mining University and visited St. Petersburg Special Economic Zone.
The visit resulted in a number of new business collaboration ideas and initiatives between Indian and Russian companies.
