Air India resumes Delhi-Moscow Flight, 18 July 2014
After many decades, Air India resumed its operations in Russia with its inaugural flight from Delhi to Moscow in the morning of 18 July 2014. The flight was given a ceremonial water canon salute on arrival at Domodedovo Airport, Moscow. The inaugural flight carried a delegation from India headed by Chairman and Managing Director of Air India, Mr. Rohit Nandan. The inaugural ceremony at the airport was attended by senior officials of Air India, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Ministry of External Affairs of India, Embassy of India, Moscow and Domodedovo Airport, Moscow. Air India’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner would fly between Delhi and Moscow (Domodedovo Airport) 4 times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday).
