JNCC student Ms. Yulia Arseneeva of local Kathak dance teacher, Ms. Ekatrina Seliverstova presented a solo Kathak performance at the State Museum of Oriental Art, Moscow on 22 May organized by the Nritya Sabha Foundation. Shri Anil Trigunayat, Charge d’Affaires a.i., Embassy of India, Moscow was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The programme began with traditional lighting of lamp by Shri Anil Trigunayat along with Ms. Nadejda Markovna Korabelnik, Head of the Department of Scientific Educational Work, State Museum of Oriental Art and Ms. Irina Iskorostenskaia, Director of the Nritya Sabha Foundation. In his remarks, Shri Trigunayat made a special mention about the interest of Russian people in Indian culture and also thanked them for promoting it in Russia. He also felicitated the artiste by presenting a bouquet to her. Ms. Arseneeva has been learning Kathak in Russia for 9 years and has been recommended under ICCR Scholarship Scheme this year to study Kathak in India. |
