Interactive Session with the Indian business community
An interactive session for the representatives of Indian pharmaceuticals companies based in Moscow was organized at the Embassy of India on April 8, 2015. H.E. Mr. P.S. Raghavan, Ambassador of India to the Russian Federation presided over the meeting, which discussed current trends in bilateral trade in pharmaceuticals sector.
2. The meeting discussed the impact on Indian exports of pharmaceutical products of anti-crisis measures announced by Russian Government, depreciation of rouble and other factors. Representatives of the pharmaceuticals companies shared their experiences and made suggestions on issues that could be taken up at India-Russia governmental levels.
3. It was agreed that such regular exchanges of information between the Embassy and the Indian business community is of mutual benefit. 4. The meeting was followed by a presentation from the Moscow Government to a larger group of Indian business representatives on “Investment opportunities in Moscow Region” by Mr. Oleg Bocharov, Head of the Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship of the Moscow City Government highlighting the incentives being offered by the Moscow Government through tax benefits for investors, preferential access to communication, preferential purchase of land etc.
5. H.E. Mr. Sergey Cheremin, Minister & Head of International Relations of Moscow Government outlined his Government’s initiatives to make Moscow region a more attractive investment destination and invited Indian business to take advantage of this, particularly in areas such as IT, infrastructure, healthcare and engineering.
6. About 50 members of the Indian business community participated in the discussion on issues related to investment.
