The Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Russian Federation, H.E. Mr. P.S. Raghavan extended greetings to the Indian and Russian guests at India Day – a day-long event of music, dance, cuisine, and other facets of India organized by the Indian Business Alliance in Sokolniki Park, Moscow. The event – on August 16 – which was supported by the Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Centre of the Embassy of India, celebrated the 68th anniversary of the Independence Day of India.
The Ambassador of People’s Republic of Bangladesh H.E. Dr. S.M. Saiful Hoque was a guest of honour and conveyed greetings to the Indian guests on their national day.
Ambassador Raghavan spoke of the long-standing cultural affinities between India and Russia. He said the ongoing Festival of Indian Culture in Russia – Namaste Russia – will bring varied events to Moscow and to other regions of Russian Federation in the course of this year.
A star attraction at the event was famous Russian singer Sati Kazanova, whose presentations of Indian mantras were warmly received by the audience.
