Fellowships to young Russian scientists to work in India
Every year, Department of Science & Technology (DST) provides up to 50 fellowships to Russian scientists to work in Indian R&D laboratories/ academic organizations (Universities, IITs/ IISc) on scientific projects with stay in India for a period of 3 months to 1 year. Indian side provides international fare from Moscow to place of work in India, fellowship of Rs 25000/- per month (roughly US $ 625), free furnished accommodation and medical expenses. Fellowships to young Indian scientists to work in Russia
Every year, the Government of India provides 100% financial support to more than 50 highly motivated scientists from various universities, institutions and laboratories to work in institutions abroad under various fellowship programs viz. DST’s Better Opportunities for Young Scientists in Chosen Areas of Science and Technology (BOYSCAST), and DBT Overseas Associateship program. These long and short term fellowship programs not only provide state-of-the-art research facilities to Indian scientists but also enable them to build long-term scientific collaborations with host institutions. Travelers from the Russian Federation may note that in order to control the spread of Influenza A(H1N1), health authorities in India are carrying out screening of incoming passengers from affected countries, including the Russian Federation, at all International Airports in India. This would involve quarantine, hospitalization, etc. in case of detection of symptoms connected with flu. Government of India requests the cooperation of all concerned in this matter.
